Police and ambulance vehicles were spotted in the Stoke Village area of Plymouth shortly before 7 PM this evening Saturday 1 February.

Devonport Road was blocked while the police and ambulance service dealt with the incident. Locals reported seeing a ‘major response’.
A man is his 40s sadly died in the incident which appears to have occurred very close to the Stoke Inn pub.

A Coroner's ambulance arrived on the scene shortly after 10.30 PM.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"Officers were called to the Devonport Road area of Plymouth following a report of concern for the welfare of a man within an address at around 6.25pm on Saturday 1 February.
Paramedics also attended the property and the man, aged in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.".
