Emergency services rushed to the scene of a crash on Laira Bridge Road this morning after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed they were called at around 8.50am on Friday following reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The incident resulted in delays in the area as the road was temporarily closed to traffic.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:
"Police were called at 8.50am to Laira Bridge Road, following a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian has been taken to hospital – injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening or changing.
"The road was closed but has now been reopened."
Eyewitnesses reported seeing emergency vehicles at the scene and traffic being redirected during the height of the morning commute.
Laira Bridge Road has since reopened and traffic is now flowing normally.
