Man charged with threats to kill after armed hostage siege in Plymouth

A man has been charged with serious offences including threats to kill following last week's terrifying armed police siege in Plymouth.

Dillon Gilgunn, aged 28, of no fixed abode, Plymouth, has been charged with threats to kill, assault by beating and affray.

The man appeared before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday (11 April).

The dramatic incident unfolded on Tuesday, 9 April, around 9:10pm, when officers were called to reports of an assault at a home on Barne Road, St Budeaux.

Explosions and sounds of smashing glass were reported as emergency services retreated for safety.

Specialist HART paramedics in bulletproof vests were deployed from Exeter, while fire crews waited nearby for instructions.
