Man arrested after baton attack in Tamerton Foliot

A man has been arrested after police responded to reports of an attempted break-in and assault in Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth.

Officers were called to Cunningham Road at around 8:15pm on Tuesday, March 11, following reports of a man trying to force entry into a property.

It is alleged that an assault then took place outside, where a baton was used.

A man suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were called at around 8.15pm on Tuesday 11 March to Cunningham Road, Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth, following a report of a man trying to force entry into a property.  
There were also further reports of an assault outside the property using a baton. 
A man was left with facial injuries and taken to hospital. 
His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
A man in his 30s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on police bail as enquiries continue."
