London man charged after Plymouth acid attack

A man has been charged following a violent acid attack in Plymouth that left a victim in a critical condition.

Israel Augustus, 25, of Pulford Road, London, has been charged with multiple offences.

These include applying a destructive substance with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, participating in the criminal activities of an organised crime group, and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug (cocaine).

He is also charged with being concerned in an offer to supply class A drugs (MDMA and ketamine), being concerned in the supply of a class B drug (cannabis), possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, aggravated burglary, and possession of a knife blade/sharp-pointed article in a public place.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses. Anyone with CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam recordings from the early hours of 21 February is urged to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101, quoting log 69 of 21 February.
