The heartbroken family of Steve Hawnton have paid tribute after he tragically lost his life following a collision in Plymouth.
Stephen, 63, was described by his family as "the most kind, caring, and genuine man you could ever meet."
He was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene despite the best efforts of the emergency services. Police, paramedics, and the Devon Air Ambulance attended.
In a tribute, his family said: "Us as a family are heartbroken and in utter and complete shock for the passing of Steve."
They added: "He was truly the most kind, caring and genuine man that you would have ever met. The best Son, Husband, Dad, and Grandad."
"He will be missed by all that knew him, especially us as a family."
The family also expressed gratitude to emergency services and local residents for their support during the traumatic incident.
"We will forever be grateful for their help and support on that day", they said.
The collision happened around 1:05 pm on North Prospect Road. Police confirmed his death is not being treated as suspicious.
Stephen's family concluded with a heartfelt message: "Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts, until we meet again all our love forever and always".
